L.A. Local: January Faves
The blog has been devoid of fresh content lately because I’ve been more or less a depressed hermit for the past few months.
Since my birthday in November, it’s been a downhill mess of small business owner trials (will add minority business to that for dramatic effect), illnesses, etc. But enough negative talk. Things are finally turning around and I’m finally coming out of my bear cave. One of my 2010 goals is meet new Angelenos, especially of the creative sort. If you’re one of them, I’d like to meet you! BF and I have been exchanging ideas of getting a community of sorts together soon, so I’ll keep you updated on that.
January plusses in the middle of all the minuses:
Getting out and about after a month of being sick in bed, Silverlake Flea Market
Idea-making at Urth Caffe
OK, just lattes at Urth Caffe in general
Okonomiyaki nights with the BF
Wearing brown, blue and grey altogether, and then getting street snapped for it
(Ruffian for Anthropologie Flocked Chiffon Blouse, Urban Outfitters cardigan, F21 shorts, F21 ombre scarf, F21 tights, Joie Veronica Mary Janes)

hi there!
thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog. i know what you mean, its always the little things that matter when you’re not feeling up to join the rest of the free world..glad you are feeling better though.
and oh, i think its funny that i actually went to school in L.A. and now live in the Bay area while you did the opposite. I still have a lot of friends down there and visit often. where did you guys find the “you are beautiful” installation? that pic of you and your bf in front of it is gorgeous!
Hi Odessa,
I used to drive by the installation every day on the way to work, when I first started my business, in downtown LA. Since then I had always wanted to have our portrait taken in front of it. Glad I did just in time, as it’s no longer standing. It had a good year run though :] I wrote about it here if you’re interested. Thank YOU for stopping by as well!
oh, that’s too bad that its not there anymore. but good for you for taking that pic while it was still standing. i am in love with that picture, btw.
