My 4th of July weekend in pictures:

Eating, eating, and more eating – Ensenada-style fish tacos at Senor Fish here in DTLA

Reuniting with good friends at their rented Venice beach house – we can’t afford nice houses (okay, any houses), but we sure can rent them for the weekend

When you live in Westlake, look no further than outside your window for fireworks

My dog had fireworks of his own

The REAL highlight of my weekend was catching the much-anticipated sold out show of Death Cab for Cutie (one of my fave bands) performing with the LA Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl. The Bowl is probably my favorite venue in L.A. – beautiful people, AMAZING sound, and a phenomenal lineup, especially this summer, all outdoors underneath the stars. You can bring in your own food and drinks for a picnic even.

People all the way up to the back row

Lookin’ good Ben!

Playing with the LA Phil

Oh no they didn’t just break out the fireworks?!?!

OH YES THEY DID.

They opened the doors behind the stage to reveal what it looks like from there. It’s quite unsettling.
Here’s a video Death Cab with the LA Phil performing the last song, “Transatlanticism”. Watch it, love it:
But that’s not all! BF got tickets to the Michael Jackson memorial on Monday, so that’s how I spent my Tuesday morning. Stay tuned.
